Funny Sayings With Smart Meanings.

Hi!,
Some old fashioned sayings are hard to understand, as we all know. At camp we heard a lot of those. I’m going to dig deep and show you a meaning of one saying we heard at camp then a saying Confucius said.

Sovereign Hill Quote
“All that glitters is not gold.” Some people think it means gold is more valuable than anything. It actually means if someone looks good on the outside they might be bad on the inside. Everyone encounters someone like that in their life and it’s okay because you’re not the only one. If you can be nice you’ll always be gold even if you don’t glitter.

Other Quote
“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in getting up every time we do.” Some people think this means when you fall you need to get up. It actually means we all will fail at some point or another. But true failure is only when we fail to get up. It also means you have to build a bridge and get over it.

My Buddy Jacob Looking Pretty Awesome.

My Buddy Jacob Looking Pretty Awesome.

I heard a creak as the classroom door opened and I saw Mrs. Hensby dressed like an old fashioned teacher!!! Suddenly her class marched in dressed like kids in the olden days. Turns  out they had an old fashioned dress up day!!! The reason for this is that their inquiry unit was history of Gisborne and New Gisborne. My buddy Jacob looked so old fashioned minus the coloured tag, but still he looked pretty cool. He taught me something I didn’t know, I learnt that the Gisborne fountain was built and demolished 3 times!!! That’s right 3 times!
